Good morning, Honorable Deputy Minister Chuang, Distinguished guests, Colleagues, and Friends.
It is my great honor to welcome you all to the Asia Health Literacy Conference 2025 in Taichung Taiwan. Today, we gather as a community dedicated to advancing health literacy, empowering individuals, and improving public health outcomes. In an era where information is abundant yet sometimes overwhelming, our shared mission is more important than ever: to ensure that everyone has the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions about their health.
In rapidly evolving digital landscape, artificial intelligence (AI) offers unprecedented opportunities to enhance health literacy on a global scale. By providing accessible, personalized, and accurate health information, AI can bridge gaps in understanding, support preventive care, and foster healthier behaviors. Harnessing the synergy between health literacy and AI is essential for building a healthier world, where everyone has the knowledge and tools to thrive.
Recently, Healthy Taiwan Cultivation Plan was initiated by the Presidential office, with 1.6 billion US dollars funding support in next 5 years. It touches not only on disease prevention, health promotion but also health literacy to empower people from a young age. The holistic approach aims to combat misinformation and encourage healthy lifestyles. Our hospital, CSMUH, was granted 6.4million in next 16 months for execution.
I sincerely hope that you can work with us to explore innovative strategies, share best practices, and foster collaborations that can drive meaningful changes. Together, we can build a future where health literacy is a cornerstone of well-being for all.
Thank you for being here, and I look forward to a productive and inspiring conference.
