Yufong International Health Literacy Awards Committee would like to announce the awardees of the 2025, in advance of the upcoming 11st AHLA Conference, Nov 23-25, 2025, in Taichung, Taiwan.
The Award is named after Madame Yufong Hsu (1927-2016) a Taiwanese who significantly supported health literacy initiatives during her lifetime.
The purpose of the award is to acknowledge and promote global health literacy research and practices, and encourage health literacy research and programs in countries and communities. The awards honor individuals or institutions with the best research and practice outcomes in the field, with their work published in an international, peer-reviewed journal. The awards are traditionally presented during the opening ceremony of the annual AHLA International Health Literacy Conference.

Prof. Stephan Van den Broucke, PhD a professor of health psychology at the UC Louvain, Belgium, as well as an associate professor in Université Laval, Canada, has served 5th consecutive term on the Executive Board of International Union of Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE), now as Vice President for Europe of IUHPE, was recognized by Expertscape in November 2021 as one of the world's experts in health education, a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Behavioural and Cultural Insights of WHO-Euro for 3 years, as well as many years as the advisor of the Belgian Superior Health Council, and the President of HealtNest, the Belgian Health Literacy network. Expert of the Belgian Higher Health Council since May 2022. Prof. Broucke has served as an advisor to the AHLA since 2013.

Dr. Prof. Jin-Tang CHEN, MD, MPH (Johns Hopkins University), Honorary Superintendent in the Show Chwan Healthcare System, the Founding President of the Taiwan Health Industry Balanced Scorecard Management Association, Adjunct Chair Professor of the Chaoyang University of Technology, received Executive Yuan Service Quality Awards (1999 and 2023), National Quality Award (2004), National Standardization Award (2006), Taiwan Health Promoting Hospital Friendly Workplace Award (2009), and Medical Quality Promotion Association, Quality Master Award (2023), with more than 40 years committed in healthcare services and healthcare quality promotion in community health centers, is active in health promotion among the public, and works ceaselessly to raise healthcare quality in community levels in Taiwan.
