
We were honored to welcome Professor Orkan Okan, President of the International Health Literacy Association (IHLA), Dieector or WHOHLC at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, as our keynote speaker. His insightful presentation provided a global perspective on the rising importance of health literacy in shaping effective health policies and empowering individuals and communities around the world.
At the regional level, the meeting featured representatives from the Asian Health Literacy Association (AHLA), led by Professor Tuyen V Duong, AHLA President, who shared valuable insights on regional cooperation and collaborative efforts across Asia. Additional AHLA members included Professor Peter Chang (Past President), Hung Nguyen (Secretary), and Tiara Octary (Secretary), contributing to a robust discussion on health literacy initiatives in the region.
At the national level, we were joined by members of the Taiwan Association for Health Literacy and Communication (TAHLC), presented by Dr. Chia-Hsiu Liu, who emphasized Taiwan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen health communication and public engagement.
The meeting was also graced by distinguished figures in Taiwan’s health sector, including:

This collaborative gathering marked an important step toward building a unified global vision for health literacy, aiming to equip people everywhere with the knowledge and confidence to make informed health decisions for themselves and their communities.
