Congradulations to Prof. Peter Chang, AHLA Honorary President, to receive the 2024 Ho Chi Minh Badge
 

The Honorary President Prof. Peter Wushou Chang, one of the founders of AHLA, the first Secretary General of the AHLA from 2014 to 2019, and the AHLA President 2019-2022, has been awarded with the highest honor “Ho Chi Minh Badge” at the 10th AHLA International Health Literacy Conference jointly with the 35th Anniversary of the Construction and Development of the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The honor has been endowed by the Chairman, Phan Van Mai of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to Professor Chang for his contribution to the education and training in the innovative healthcare services in several institutions in Vietnam.
One of the most significant engagements has been his staying as a physician to take care of the patients during the COVID-19 pandemic when it impacted significantly the healthcare services in southern Vietnam in 2021. Prof. Chang continued his commitments to provide higher standards of healthcare services and education program in Vietnam, with the development of the Taiwan Vietnam Medical and Biotech Association in 2022 and provided more supports for those involved in the collaboration and technical transfer with Vietnamese partners.
Prof. Chang has assisted in the establishment, jointly by the Rector Nguyen Thanh Hiep and Dr. Tran Quoc Cuong, the AHLA office in the University in 2022, and appointed as a senior advisor of the Scientific and Research Council in the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in 2023, and provided continuous education and innovative researches in health care services and digital health care and digital health literacy in and beyond the campus.
Prof. Chang joined by Dr. Nguyen The Dung, Dr. Duong Van Tuyen, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep, and Dr. Tran Quoc Cuong, to support the 10th AHLA Conference held in Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and the University of Cuu Long in May 2024, which help synchronize and reflect the strong and innovative developments of the University and the Ho Chi Minh City in the years to come.
