Welcome remarks by Rector Hiep of the PNTU for the 10th AHLA

Dear AHLA members, Presidents of the AHLA country offices, the international scholars,
global partners of health literacy, friends, and colleagues,
 
On behalf of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, I would like to express my welcome to you all to join the 10th AHLA International Conference in May 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (PNTU) is a public university, with a full range of training majors in the field of health sciences. PNTU consists of 08 Faculties and affiliated Centers: Faculty of Medicine; Faculty of Medicine Vietnam - Germany; Faculty of Pharmacy; Faculty of Dentistry; Faculty of Public Health; Faculty of Nursing - Medical Technologies; Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences; Faculty of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy; Biomedical Research Center; Sleep Medicine Center; Medical Testing Center, ... along with a number of affiliated training institutes. PNTU was established in 1989, after nearly 35 years of development, it has become one of the leading medical universities in Vietnam with a nationwide enrollment and over 10,000 students annually for study, research at all levels. PNTU has established relationships with more than 50 institutes, hospitals and health centers in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring areas, serving as bases for clinical practice, research and teaching.

With the vision of becoming a Health Science Training University that integrates with the ASEAN region and the world, PNTU has been strengthening cooperation with universities, research institutes, and hospitals in countries and territories. such as France, Belgium, Germany, Taiwan, Australia, USA, Thailand, and Singapore.

As a full member with many active contributions to AHLA, PNTU and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health are very honored to be selected for hosting the 10th AHLA Annual International Meeting, from May 12 to 15, 2024. I believe this is a great opportunity for scholars from all over the world to exchange, collaborate on research on prominent and urgent global health issues. In addition, this is an opportunity for PNTU and Vietnamese scholars to learn, exchange and share experiences in the medical field in order to contribute to improving training and scientific research with international friends.
I extend my best wishes and believe that the 10th AHLA International Conference will be a great success.
